Puzzle 560 - Fish Market, Venice, Italy '97
Limited edition of ONE

As it happened (from my Journal archives)

Fish Market is a major work, cut over a three day period, with a lot of attention given to my flow cutting techniques, flowing lines from one piece to another. Lot of eggs showed up in the puzzle, surely you can find some in the picture, as well as three Multi-curls. I'll have an egg count done by the time the auction starts. Only the head of Pellie (the Pelican) is visible on the pavement, below the dark part of the bridge's arch. There are scattered areas of clc along with a my usual knob varieties: howlers, sway curls, a few "droopy knobs" and other stuff. One cut was inspired by a Tango "double outside swivel" (not sure if this is the right name), no idea where it is in the puzzle. There are no very fragile pieces, a problem I've had with some of my ambitious puzzles.

5:00 pm - I received confirmation for a small, rush Birthday puzzle; I've place this puzzle as the first puzzle to cut after the completion of the Fish Market puzzle. I've been requested to cut this puzzle "with a lot of love".

I started cutting Fish Market today, putting in 3-4 hours of work. I didn't cut that many pieces, rather focused on a subdivision approach, working the board down into smaller sections with clc, signature piece, a Pelican and a Tri-curl, Quadra-curl and Penta-curl completed as well as some Eggs. Cutting going well. I'll continue work tomorrow and I expect to complete the puzzle on Saturday.

I enjoyed last night's Boston, NY game :-), don't care what Boston does in the Series, the curse has been lifted. Only team left with pathology is the Cubs.....

10:45 pm - In a long day of cutting I cut more than 300 pieces of the Fish Market puzzle, for a total of around 350 pieces. Cutting is going very well. I plan to finish the puzzle tomorrow and start the Auction on Sunday.

5:27 pm - I completed the Fish Market puzzle today, an excellent Swirl Curl style puzzle; has at least a dozen eggs. I'll have pictures tomorrow; the auction will likely start sometime late tomorrow afternoon. I also prepared the boards for the next two puzzles today, but I need a little break and won't continue work on the next two puzzles until sometime tomorrow.
