Summer solstice occurred here on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 1:24 AM local time. Once again, "June Gloom" prevented viewing. There is a small chance the skies will be clear to the east tomorrow morning.

Well June Gloom came back and it wasn't until July 4 that a briefly visible sunrise enabled me to check out the alignment of the Shadow Casters. Two days later a lightly longer period of sunrise enabled me to quickly make adjustments and get a few pictures, although the shadows were dimmed by a thin veil of clouds.

The sun was already a couple weeks past solstice, rising further to the right, with the resulting shadow effect - will try again next year!
