Puzzle #180 - Historic Arcade Diner
Custom Marriage Proposal Puzzle

Puzzle #180 - Proposal Pieces

The Proposal is fully included within two pieces so that when the puzzle is assembled without the Proposal Pieces, there is no hint that the boy and message are there!

Puzzle #180 - Figurals
Those guitar tuning knobs were at the extreme limit of what I can cut

This puzzle was commissioned as a Marriage Proposal puzzle. The customer had a picture of himself as a boy holding a drawing of an alligator. He modified drawing to say "TRUDY, WILL YOU MARRY ME" and then inserted the modified picture of himself with the sign into the photograph of the diner. (I offer photo modification services for those customers who want assistance!)

Although this is a small puzzle (7 1/2" by 5") with 40 pieces, the puzzle is an excellent puzzle and far more importantly, worked!!!

Brandon's Story

The customer, Brandon, kindly shared with me his experience with the puzzle. He wrote:

"i gave Trudy the puzzle last night, and everything worked perfectly. i wasn't sure how i was going to explain how i found a puzzle of "our" restaurant to Trudy (i wanted it to be a complete surprise), so i told her that i happened upon your site, and that you made souvenir puzzles of various landmarks of American cities. i had made a little fake form that i put in with the puzzle, saying that the puzzle was one of your "Memphis in Pieces" puzzles from your more extensive "Cities in Pieces" collection. she read the form and dove right into the puzzle."

I love how creative my customers can be! As to the key pieces, Brandon wrote that he "slipped them back into the box when I moved it to a nearby counter". After Trudy completed the puzzle, except for the missing pieces, she then when to the box and found them! Surprise!

Some customers will keep the special pieces in their pockets and then pretend to "find" them on the floor when the hunt begins. Some customers have presented The Ring with the special pieces.
