Puzzle #52 - Fantasy Faire
This is a puzzle made from the K. Chin's print, "Fantasy Faire". For other K. Chin prints available as puzzles see: K. Chin - Prints.
This puzzle took several days of pretty intense work to cut. Each of the Ferris Wheel carriages is cut out as separate little puzzle, each with about eight pieces. Nine of the carriages have a wavey buttom, while the tenth, in the lower right, partially obscured by the "Minne the Mermaid" sign has a straight bottom, on of the few quirks of this painting by K. Chin. Over the past few months I have been designing Figure Pieces, introducing a few at a time in my recent puzzles. In this puzzle I feature most of them, 29 in all, way beyond what I have included in any previous puzzle. Some of the figurals are virtually "perfect" as I took long time on some of them.
This is a very challenging puzzle to put together! The bottom third goes together first - fun to work on all the various signs and booths, eventually figure out how it goes together. Then the 10 mini puzzles (the ferris wheel carriages) are solved. The ferris wheel is much harder - one learns to study the structural way all the supports go together and the distribution of red and green "jewels" in the ferris wheel - very, very, challenging. The black sky is the worst, and of course, goes together last, the fireworks help just a little.
