Friday 6:08 pm - Puzzle cutting marathon has started. I cut "about" 222 pieces of #657, Volterra, cutting going well. The puzzle will have around 500 pieces and I'm going to attempt to complete it tomorrow in a long day of cutting. I'm including a little more color line cutting in the puzzle than usual, although still a modest amount. I normally start my 100 Puzzle Project auctions on Friday afternoons, but as the last Friday of this month is now out of the question, the auction for the puzzle will start on Monday afternoon February 27th, on eBay.

Saturday 11:43 pm - Puzzle #657, Volterra is done; I cut around 280 pieces today in a full day of work. Puzzle looks good, auction will start Monday. I'll have picture of the figurals (wine bottle, two wine glasses - all "on" the table lower left, Italy and "2006") by the time I start the auction. There is more color line cutting in this puzzle than in my normal Seewald puzzles.

Tuesday 5:36 pm - Auction launched.

From the auction description:

This puzzle, Volterra, features an excellent photograph by master photographer Michael Seewald, the photographer whom I've featured several times before within the 100 Puzzles Project. This image was removed from one of Michael Seewald's, limited edition art calendars (the January page from year 2002), of which 499 were printed. This puzzle is a limited edition of ONE, I will not be purchasing any additional year 2002 calendars nor accepting commissions from others for this image. Purchase information is here. The picture is a time exposure, causing an almost complete blur out of the attendant behind the bar and some blurring of a customer in front of the bar.

The puzzle includes five figurals: an outline of Italy, a year "2006" (the year the puzzle was made) and wine bottle with two wine glasses, placed on the table in the lower left; and my signature piece (signed, numbered and dated on the back). I also marked a second piece on the back (the Italy piece), indicating the puzzle belongs to the 100 Puzzles Project.

This puzzle is cut in my Long Round cutting style with small pieces. There is some color line cutting in this puzzle, a bit more than I usually do in my Seewald puzzles.
