Puzzle #75 - Merry Christmas - We Love You
This puzzle was made during the final days of my pre-Christmas 2000 puzzle making marathon. I enjoyed cutting this puzzle, knowing that it was going to be a hard one to put together with all the black in it. The face in the middle will smile at the person looking for the pieces!
The corner pieces in the lower right are interesting - an evolution of a trick corner I've been developing. All of the edges are in the "Indirect Interlocking Edges" style, to increase the difficulty of the puzzle. This puzzle is a good example of my Swirl Curl style, there is a little Flow Curl influence but rather pure Swirl Curl. I like the edge piece, along the bottom, which was cut around the first exclamation point (!), nice and symmetrical. I like the way I placed the cats and dog at the base of the central figure - the darkness makes them stand out.
New Figure Pieces in puzzle #75
I designed a modified Snowflake for this puzzle - it actually looks like three rods with balls on the end intersecting in three dimensions! The other piece is a "Crop Circle", which reappeared in my next puzzle (#76), more prominently, above the Dragon's Head.
