Monday 9:03 pm - Here are some pictures. It's been a long day, the webpages I mentioned yesterday will show up tomorrow morning.

#785 - Imperial Silver Dragon - the 8th incarnation (February 2008), 378 pieces
As nice as any I have made

#54 - The first Imperial Silver Dragon (November 2000)
A breakthrough puzzle, first time I use "Creative" to describe the style, first "Observer" figural, first "egg" pieces
Printing method used not as good as recent versions, "Creative" style was in formative days

As it happened (from my Journal archives)

Saturday 7:48 pm - Tomorrow I'll mount Imperial Silver Dragon, the three additional AGPC prints and the three test papers. Cutting will start Monday, first the three test papers, then I'll start Imperial Silver Dragon.

Sunday 7:35 pm - Lot of work today, apartment related (installing an air purifier, vacuuming, hanging pictures, etc.) and puzzle related: I mounted the seven items I mentioned yesterday: Imperial Silver Dragon, the three additional AGPC prints and the three test papers. Tomorrow I'll cut the three test papers and see how they cut - this is for the customer with the "?" for the last puzzle to be made in February. I'll also start Imperial Silver Dragon.

Monday 4:18 pm - I started cutting Imperial Silver Dragon, the eighth one in eight years. Cutting going well although I cut just a few pieces today: I've completed the edges, and some initial cutting and several figurals and several other pieces. Cutting will resume tomorrow, picking up the pace.

February 26, 2008

Tuesday 6:26 pm - I cut about 160 more pieces in the Creative style #785, Imperial Silver Dragon, today. Cutting continues to go well. As I am not yet at the half way mark, looks like completion will slip to Thursday.

February 27, 2008

Wednesday 6:04 pm - Cut another 100 pieces for #785, have about that many more to do tomorrow to complete the puzzle, cutting going well. No other updates other than that I've come down with conjunctivitis (pink eye) and have obtained mediation for it, cancelling dancing this evening, again, sigh.

Thursday 7:04 pm - Puzzle #785, my eighth Imperial Silver Dragon puzzle, is done. Looks excellent. I've taken pictures but have not loaded them yet. I'm curious to compare this puzzle with #721, the seventh Imperial Silver Dragon puzzle, which was first one I cut since July 2003. As usual, the Creative style cutting was much more mentally demanding than Swirl Curl or Long Round, I would sure like to cut a nice big "mindless" Long Round puzzle as the next puzzle!

February 29, 2008

Friday 7:17 pm - The image for the Imperial Silver Dragon is printed on a Light Jet 430 Photo Imaging Printer - one of the best printers in the world, this work is subcontracted out. Today I ordered three more prints as the last ISD puzzle used up my last ISD Light Jet print in stock. Two of the remaining puzzles to be made this year (including one of March's puzzles) will be Imperial Silver Dragon puzzles.

Saturday 6:32 pm - I find it harder to cut Creative style when I cannot fully resonate with what I've already cut. I find the same thing when I cut Imperial Silver Dragon - the black areas are really cool, in the Dragon areas the cutting is much harder to see.
