As it happened - July 26, 2001

I ended up cutting one of the three remaining Custom Puzzles in my backlog today. An 8 x 10" puzzle (untitled at this time) with 143 pieces, Creative Style. Has some new figurals, requested by the customer, that I spent a lot time designing. The "8" figural has some "enhancement" lines entering in from the sides, see detail picture, below.

The dragon and the fairy will probably show up in the forth coming eBay puzzle [They did, in Puzzle #137 - 100 Puzzle Project Puzzle #13] even though the talons / claws of the Dragon are a bit delicate. Took me about four hours to develop the outline for the Fairy figural ...... as I studied many "pixie" fairies to develop a sense for how I wanted one to look. The dragon took about two hours to design. I've decided that a stylized graphic of the new two piece Heart figural will eventually replace the current "love puzzles" graphic on the home page.

The two piece Heart was requested by the Customer. I like the way I designed the interlock in the Heart, as when looking at the individual pieces it is not readily apparent that they each are part of a Heart. Edit: I later redesigned the way the two pieces of the Heart interlocked, coming up with the idea of the Spiral Love Heart.

Je t'aime is French for "I love you".
