Puzzle #95 - Alaska - Mt. McKinley Puzzle
©2001 Michael Seewald
Mt. McKinley (Denali), Alaska USA - My brother Greg didn't know why I was glad to find his mini-camper already had a cracked windshield! As I was borrowing it, I was nervous that the Alcan (Alaska-Canadian) Highway, which is made up of compact gravel, instead of asphalt, to let all the rainwater through, would have logging trucks throwing up rocks. I made it to asphalt in Alaska when a pickup tossed a rock into it!
At Denali National Park, only busses are allowed in, and I missed the last one out getting this shot. I figured I'd freeze but one last local came by and I hitched a ride back to the entrance.
This wooden jigsaw puzzle was cut with very small Long Round pieces, with a density of almost 4 puzzle pieces per square inch. This is the highest density I've cut in any puzzle and is about the upper limit I'd recommend, as the image becomes overwhelmed by the puzzle cut at higher densities. My regular density for Long Round is about 3 pieces per square inch.
