Puzzle 871 - Pentagons & Triangles
Some day I'll have to write a dissertation about how this image was created and then colored. There are 10 orders of magnitude within this image, with a magnifying glass required to see the smallest level. The source image is 4K by 4K pixels in size. With this puzzle, this is the first time I've made this image public in a colored representation.
As all of the triangles are in the same orientation, putting this puzzle together should be easier than some of my other Geometric Pattern puzzles. But still pretty tough!

Wednesday 11:51 AM - I have begun work on the four puzzles I plan to make for sale at the 2012 Puzzle Parley. I created a scaled image of the mini version of Cubic Alternations, and did some further work on the artwork for Pentagons and Triangles as the colors were unsatisfactory. I feel I now have a much stronger design.
Here is a greatly reduced image of Pentagons and Triangles:

Tuesday 6:25 PM - I managed to get to the shop for just a few hours today. I cut the straight border for #871, Pentagons and Triangles, then some initial interior subdivision cuts and finally about 70 pieces of the projected 500. Cutting is going well. The border was particularly difficult as I designed the border to be a very, very thin strip of white around the pattern so even a slight deviation in cutting a straight line would be noticed. The border came out well. I took some pictures but the colors are way off. Will take some more upon arrival tomorrow. I expect to have the puzzle completed by Thursday afternoon.

Wednesday 7:31 PM - In a truly massive all day marathon (about 9 hours of cutting), I completed #871, Pentagons and Triangles. Front and back, flawless. Completely zonked. Will have pictures tomorrow.
